Capturing Timeless Stories of Love & Diversity though Photography

In a world where love knows no boundaries, capturing the authentic and diverse stories of couples through photography has become more important than ever. As a photographer specialising in wedding photography, couple shoots and portraits, I’ve had the privilege of working with couples who embody the essence of love, commitment, and individuality.

One such experience was a couple shoot for Atulan & Divesh, set against the backdrop of Kolkata, the City of Joy, during the vibrant Durga Puja festivities.

Photography to me is more than just capturing images; it’s about telling stories that resonate for years to come. For too long, mainstream wedding photography has often overlooked the diverse love stories within the LGBTQ+ community.

As a photographer, I get to break these stereotypes by capturing love in all its forms, ensuring that every couple’s unique bond is celebrated and remembered. This not just adds more depth & inclusivity to the wedding photography industry, but also provides inspiration and visibility for those who might not always see their love stories reflected in traditional media.

It is a reminder that ‘Love is Love’.

Our photoshoot with Atulan & Divesh took place in Kolkata, a city steeped in history and culture, which also happens to be Atulan’s hometown & perfectly complemented the couple’s love story. We aimed to keep the shoot authentic, highlighting iconic locations & the old world charm of the city, without making them too prominent. The result was a collection of images that are both nostalgic and timeless.

In capturing the love stories of same-sex couples, we as photographers have the power to challenge societal norms and create a more inclusive world. If you’re a couple looking to celebrate your unique bond, we’d love to hear your story! Reach out to us, and let’s discuss how we can create a timeless narrative that reflects your love.
