Photography goes beyond capturing moments; it’s about telling stories through visuals. Being a wedding photographer has been a truly meaningful experience. I feel honored to be part of one of the most important moments in people’s lives – their weddings. It’s an incredible privilege to document the love, joy, tears, and emotions that unfold on such a special day. My journey as a wedding photographer has been fulfilling and rewarding, from capturing the joy and laughter during the pre-wedding festivities to freezing the precious moments of the wedding ceremony and reception.

How did your wedding photography journey begin?  

Reflecting on my journey as a wedding photographer, I can’t help but smile. A series of unexpected moments and happy accidents led me to pursue my passion for capturing beautiful moments on a couple’s big day.  

During my photography course, I met a lovely lady on the Mumbai local train, and we struck up a conversation. We ended up exchanging numbers, and days later, Megha surprised me with a call asking if I would photograph her wedding. Even though I had zero experience in wedding photography, I was hesitant at first, but eventually, I couldn’t resist the opportunity.  

With the bride’s confidence in me, I dove headfirst into capturing Megha & Mehul’s wedding. It was a wonderful first-hand experience, and I was amazed by the emotions that unfolded throughout the day. The couple absolutely loved the photos and were delighted with the way I covered the events. Their appreciation and positive feedback were a major boost to my confidence. They ignited my passion for wedding photography even more.  

Essential Considerations for Wedding Photography  

As a wedding photographer, I have learned through my experiences that there are several critical factors to keep in mind to ensure that I capture the essence and beauty of a couple’s special day. Here are some crucial considerations that I always take into account:   

It all starts with understanding the couple’s vision for their special day. I make sure to have a heart-to-heart conversation with the couple, listening to their unique preferences and ideas. This helps me tailor my approach and deliver the photos they’ve always dreamed of!  

Planning and preparation is also crucial for successful wedding photography. I scout the venue, create a shot list, and make a timeline to ensure I capture all the special moments and details that matter to the couple. Having the right equipment and backups is equally important, as it ensures I can capture high-quality images without any hiccups.  

On the big day, amidst the joyous wedding chaos, clear communication and coordination are my superpowers! From directing poses to capturing candid moments, I ensure everyone is in sync. A seasoned photographer has to stay flexible and adaptable, ready to handle any last-minute changes or surprises that may pop up. After all, weddings are full of unexpected moments, and being able to go with the flow is part of the fun!  

As a wedding photographer, I believe that magic is in the details! From the bride’s exquisite dress and accessories to the carefully chosen decor, flowers, and all the little moments that tell the story of the day, I make sure to capture it all with awe-inspiring precision. Each detail is a piece of the puzzle that comes together to create breathtaking wedding photos.

It’s very difficult to pinpoint a single wedding, since each wedding, each couple and their families all hold a very special place in my heart. I’ve been blessed that the people I photograph & their families are very welcoming & treat me as a part of the family.
